Accomodations

CABINS: Pointes West has 6 rustic three-bedroom cottages and 2 two-bedroom cottages located right on Lake Thurmond. All have central heat/air, kitchen complete with microwave, pots/pans, dishes for 6 place settings, living room with phone, satellite TV. Bed and bath linens are provided. Bathroom has tub with shower facilities. Double bed per bedroom. No maid service available, linens exchanged at the lodge. Reservation requires 2 night minimum.

COTTAGES: Pointes West has 5 two-bedroom cottages with a loft located right on Lake Thurmond. Each cottage also has two bathrooms that are decorated with ceramic tile from floor to ceiling. They also include two sleeper sofas (One upstairs in the loft and one downstairs). All have central heat/air, kitchen complete with microwave, pots/pans, dishes for 6 place settings, living room with phone, satellite TV. Bed and bath linens are provided. Bathroom has tub with shower facilities. Double bed per bedroom. No maid service available, linens exchanged at the lodge. Reservation requires 2 night minimum.

MOTEL: Pointes West has twelve motel suites. Each suite includes two double beds, a kitchenette, bathroom, a separate vanity area, and den. All have central heat/air, kitchen complete with microwave, pots/pans, dishes for 4 place settings, living room with phone, satellite TV. Bed and bath linens are provided. No maid service available, linens exchanged at the lodge. Reservation requires 2 night minimum.

CAMPERS: Pointes West has three 27' rental campers, eighteen 35' campers, and one 43' camper. Each camper has a shower, heat/air, complete kitchen (with microwave, pots/pans, dishes for 6), and TV. Two night minimum reservation, No maid service. Linens may be exchanged at lodge.

NO PETS ALLOWED INSIDE RENTAL UNITS - IF PETS FOUND IN RENTAL UNITS, PATRONS WILL BE CHARGED CLEANING FEE OF $100.00.

RESERVATIONS: A two-night minimum stay is required with reservations. A credit card will hold reservation. Active Duty personnel may make reservations 1-180 days in advance. All other authorized users may make reservations 1-150 days in advance. One night stays will be handled on walk-in basis subject to availability. Specific cottage preference will be noted, if available. Cottages are identical in structure, and reservation will secure only available units. For reservations, call (706) 541-1057.

CHECK-IN: Check-in time for all lodging rental units is 2:30 p.m. Early check-ins are handled case-by-case basis by Pointes West Personnel.

CHECK-OUT: Check-out time is 11:30 a.m. A courtesy hour may be requested by dialing front desk. If rented unit is not a back-to-back rental, the courtesy hour will be granted.

CANCELLATION: Cancellations must be received no less than three (3) days prior to check-in. A one-night fee will be processed for less than 3-day cancellation notice.

Conference Center

The Pointes West Conference Center has all that you could require for a gathering, meeting, conference or wedding. We are pleased to introduce to you our new 4,000 square foot Conference Center. The PWCC is fully capable and equipped to handle the smallest event and up to a regional conference. Not only is the PWCC equipped for conferences, it can be set up for one of the most special days in your life: your wedding. The PWCC can seat a maximum capacity of 120 people. It also offers a full size commercial kitchen - full use of the kitchen is available through the Gordon Conference and Catering Center. You will be amazed at the ambiance of the ceramic tile floors, the tongue and grove walls to ceiling, and the most intimate touches of décor. We have even thought about your IT support with two large screen televisions that are compatible to just about any computer hook-up. While you may think that the amenities end there, we have an eloquent patio with furniture for your viewing pleasure of Clarks Hill Lake. For those interested in weddings or receptions the rear lawn would be a perfect ceremony setting for lasting memories. A security deposit is required at the time of your reservation. So if you are thinking about an event for work, play, or life, think of Pointes West Conference Center for all your needs.

Camping

PWAR has nine camping areas. Three areas are full hook-up with approximately 20 sites in each area featuring 50/30 amp electric, water & sewerage. Two areas are semi hook-up with electric only. Four areas are primitive with beautiful lake front views, picnic tables, a grill and fire ring.

For the campsites, reservations are required. All campers must register at the Customer Service Office (Bldg. CH23) prior to camping. Campers under the age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

A camper disposal station is provided for convenience. Please be considerate of other campers. Trash and garbage receptacles are available in all camping areas. PLEASE USE THEM.

Occupancy Limits for Camping Areas:

• Full Hook-up: 1 RV/Camper and 1 tent, or 2 tents
• Semi-Hook-up: 1 Camper and 1 tent, or 2 tents
• Primitive: 2 tents
• Year Round: Occupancy is limited to 30 days in a 60 day period.

Pointes West can issue an extension beyond 30 or 60 days for medical or mechanical reasons. Campers may request extensions at the Lodge. Any person remaining on site beyond 2 p.m. on expiration or extension date will be required to complete a new rental contract every extra day. After 3 days, Ft. Gordon PMO, Columbia County Sheriff's Dept., or the COE will be notified of violation.

Campground Rules:

1. Campers desiring to extend must re-register by 12 p.m. on the expiration date. Check-out is 2 p.m.
2. Please display contract on campsite post with site number and expiration date visible.
3. Pets must be on a 6-foot leash or within voice command at all times. They should not be left unattended and please clean up behind them.
4. Place all trash in trash cans provided.
5. No gray water allowed on ground.
6. Campfires are permitted in fire ring only. Fires will not be left unattended and must be completely extinguished prior to departure.
7. Quiet hours are between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.. Noise should not exceed conversational levels during these times.
8. Swimming is authorized only in the Beach Area while lifeguards are on duty. The beach is open Memorial Day through 30 September.
9. Pets
   Domestic pets are allowed only if kept on a leash and accompanied by their owner at all times. Pets are not allowed in cottages or mobile homes or any other site buildings or the swimming area. Owners are responsible for the conduct of their pets and must clean up after them.
10. Motor Bikes
    No four-wheel vehicles, dirt/mini/motor bikes or go-carts allowed.
11. Weapons
    Firearms, bows and arrows, explosives, fireworks, slingshots, fishing spears or any sporting device capable of causing death or injury ARE STRICTLY PROHIBITED.

Recreational Activities

Picnicking: Over 200 picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Reserved picnic sites (areas 1-4) are available through the Customer Service Office at $10 per reservation. No picnicking is authorized in designated camping areas.

Swimming: Swimming is permitted 21 May 2011 through Labor Day weekend from 10 a.m. - 6:45 p.m. (Swim at your own risk.) A bathhouse is provided. Children must be accompanied by an adult. NO SWIMMING OR WADING PERMITTED IN ANY AREA OTHER THAN THE POINTES WEST BEACH. Lifeguards will be on duty during operating hours.

Bartram Trail: Trails dedicated to William Bartram and his travels through the area are available for hiking, quiet thought, and study. Enjoy hiking the Bartram Trail, and please leave the trail as William Bartram would have left it: taking only pictures and memories, leaving only footprints. Maps of the Bartram Trail are available at the Customer Service Office.

Playgrounds: Playgrounds are located throughout the area for children and the child in all of us. A variety of equipment is available.

Boating: For convenience, two boat launching ramps are provided.

Fishing: Fishing is authorized in any area (except around the rental boat docks and the swimming area). Georgia and South Carolina fishing licenses are honored on the recreation area.

Other Services

Marina/Boat Sheds/Boat Slips: Boat sheds and boat slips are available for nominal user fees on a monthly basis. The boat sheds are provided with lockable doors and are covered for protection against weather. See the price guide for current prices. TThe marina has over 100 covered slips and is open year-round.

Camper Storage: Spaces for camper storage in a fenced area are available.

Rental Equipment: Camping equipment is available for rental with daily rates. See the price guide for current prices.

Country Store: Located in the Whispering Pines Lodge is a small country store that sells beverages, snacks, camping, and fishing supplies, etc.

• A gate attendant will be stationed at the front gate Monday - Thursday from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. and Friday - Sunday from
  7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
• A boat launch fee of $3.00 will be accepted on the honor system at both boat ramps when the gate attendant is not present.
  
• The entrance or boat launch fee of $3.00 is valid for all day use activities and non-reservation facilities for one day.

ANNUAL BOAT LAUNCH PASS - $30.00 / $20.00 for seniors (age 60+) and disabled authorized users. Available at the lodge.
