Garden Rocks!

It’s safe to say the cold weather is behind us which means it’s time to plant warm season vegetables, such as tomatoes, squash and peppers. Instead of using boring popsicle sticks to differentiate between your crops, use rock signs! If you aren’t an artist, no worries, as you and your family will be the only ones to see your masterpieces!

Materials:
Rocks
Acrylic paint
Alphabet stamps
Paint brushes

Directions:

  • Begin by painting each rock the main color of the vegetable. You may need more than one coat. After the paint has dried, you can add embellishments, such as leaves, lines, etc.
  • Once completely dry, use a set of rubber stamps to spell out the name of the vegetable in an alternate color. Using a paint brush to hand write the name is another option.
  • Once the rocks are complete, paint on a clear coat so the rocks can withstand the outdoor elements.
  • Place the rocks in your garden for a cute, yet informative, ornaments!
